MAHA has three pillar issues that make up the coalition: anti-vaccine, environmental exposure via pollution, pesticides, and herbicides, and “real food.” Taken together their entire schtick is decreasing exposure to “toxins,” which is on brand for someone who doesn’t believe in the germ theory and instead believes in the—long disproven…centuries ago—“Terrain theory” that asserts one’s environment causes all illness.
It is critical to understand these verticals and which voting sector falls into each. Generally speaking, the environmental issues capture the libs of the coalition, the vaccine issue captures the MAGAs of the coalition, and the “real food” captures the normies. Of course, people are complex and there is cross over, but these are the buckets. Importantly, the selection of these issues are not an accident. They accomplish three goals: 1. broad coalition building, 2. set RFK Jr. and his ilk up for a good grift (e.g., lawsuits after dismantling protections for vaccine makers and other companies), and 3. legitimization of fringe beliefs (i.e., “I agree with some of what he’s doing…we don’t want cancer causing chemicals in our food!”).

So, the White House muzzled RFK Jr. and MAHA on the issue of vaccinations, RFK Jr. then readily turned on his base to curry favor with Trump (surprise), they lost their push on artificial colors, and they are the laughing stock of the week. Not to mention, the MAHA Mommas are pissed. This is nothing short of catastrophic for MAHA…and we take advance of these weaknesses.
