Flood the Forms

We learned of an under used tool for getting our messages across to legislators...“Contact Me” forms on their websites.

“Contact Me” form answers go to a dedicated and monitored email inbox that is only for constituents and only for these form answers. Because of this the messages are faster and easier to log, have dedicated monitoring, and don’t get lost in staffer inboxes. This means YOUR message gets to YOUR members of Congress faster! And did we mention it is SUPER easy??

First, find your members of congress here.

Next, go to their website and fill out the “Contact Me” form. To make it even easier, we have scripts you can use!

Standing up for Science, Supportive Representatives:

My name is [your name] and I am a constituent of [Senator/Representative name] from [zip code/city, state]. I am writing to express my gratitude to [Sen/Rep Name] for their steadfast and vocal support of funding for science; and for opposing President's Trump cuts to scientific research in the proposed 2026 budget. [Sen/Rep Name]'s leadership in defending American science is a testament to their commitment to safeguarding America's global scientific lead and protecting the health and future of generations to come. I also appreciate [Sen/Rep name] opposition to the White House's attempt at an illegal pocket rescission, a blatantly unconstitutional move that undermines Congress' power of the purse. As their constituent, I am counting on [Sen/Rep name] to continue the fight and to work with their colleagues to defend our vibrant scientific ecosystem.

Standing up for Science, for Quiet or Unsupportive Representatives:

My name is [your name] and I am a constituent of [Senator/Representative name] from [zip code/city, state]. I am writing to express deep concern about President Trump's cuts to science funding in the 2026 budget proposal. These cuts undermine America's global scientific leadership and threaten vital medical research and innovation, halting life-saving medical advances, interrupting or reversing decades of progress in combatting diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and Alzheimer's; accelerate the disastrous effects of climate change, including worsening extreme weather patterns; reduce our nation's biodefense capabilities; and result in higher costs for American families. As their constituent, I am asking [Sen/Rep name] to stand up against these cuts and to reject the White House's dangerous budget proposal that will cause immense harm to families in their district. I also ask that [Sen/Rep name] oppose illegal pocket rescissions to defund scientific advancement, a blatantly unconstitutional move that undermines Congress' power of the purse. China has increased their federal science budget 15% in the past 5 years...cutting ours ~30% will leave us in the dust, deplete our economy of billions of dollars, and result in the loss of hundreds of thousands of jobs. Cutting this funding is NOT socially nor fiscally responsible for us.

Standing up for NOAA/NWS/FEMA:

My name is [your name] and I am a constituent of [Senator/Representative name] from [zip code/city, state]. I am writing because I'm deeply concerned about President Trump's proposed cuts to science in the 2026 budget. With Hurricane Erin about to hit US shores, we see exactly why science matters.

Cuts to the National Weather Service, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and FEMA have made it harder to predict, warn, prepare, and respond to extreme weather events intensified by climate change. These budget cuts will erode federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial entities to predict and prepare for extreme weather events. Weakening FEMA will leave families more vulnerable when disasters strike and make recovery slower and more costly for communities across the country. [Optional: include your personal story - have you, your loved ones, or your community been affected by a natural disaster? Have you received FEMA support? Share why these cuts are personal and why they impact your representative's district.]

I'm asking [Sen/Rep name] to reject these reckless cuts and stand up for climate science and institutions that protect American families.

Standing up for CDC/EPA/FEMA:

My name is [your name] and I am a constituent of [Senator/Representative name] from [zip code/city, state]. I am writing because I'm deeply disturbed by the Trump Administration's attacks on vital public institutions such as CDC, EPA, and FEMA, and the public servants who have dedicated their lives to protecting Americans, saving lives, and helping communities in crisis.

Yesterday, DHS retaliated against the brave FEMA staff who publicly signed the Katrina Declaration to warn us that the Federal response capacity is weakened and under threat. At CDC, senior career leaders are resigning en masse in response to the politicization of public health and the unconscionable harm inflicted on Americans when truth and scientific rigor are discarded for a political agenda. Even Trump-nominated and Senate-confirmed CDC Director Dr. Monarez is being illegally pushed out by HHS because she defended CDC staff against attacks from RFK Jr. The EPA staff who courageously sounded the alarm on the dangerous dismantling of environmental safeguards remain on administrative leave and under investigation.

This is not normal. It is not an administrative reorganization, it is an attack on public health, public safety, and truth itself. These actions WILL cause immediate and long term harm and will weaken America.

[Optional: include your personal story - have you or your loved ones directly benefited from CDC, EPA, or FEMA related services, support. How do the Administration's attacks on these institutions and the people who serve them affect you directly.]

I urge [Sen/Rep name] to speak out forcefully in defense of public servants honorably serving the American people. [Sen/Rep name] must defend the integrity of the public institutions that keep our nation safe and healthy and, using all tools available to Congress, shield our vital institutions from further harm.
