Twenty years ago, the aftermath of hurricane Katrina revealed considerable flaws in our abilities to manage natural disasters, led by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Important steps were taken to prevent such failed responses from occurring in the future. A brave group of FEMA employees have written a Declaration, calling out their opposition to the administration’s deeply troubling actions and inactions that threaten to lead to additional failures.
We stand in support of these courageous public servants who have courageously spoken out in defense of the integrity of FEMA and its mission to respond fearlessly to American emergencies.
We urge you to join us - along with the brave heroes of the Katrina Declaration - in declaring “Never again!” by adding your signature below.
