On September 3, Bhattacharya’s NIH signed an “interagency agreement” with Hegseth’s Department of War, transferring Congressionally-mandated NIH patient research funding into Trump’s failing war machine.

PETITION TO CONGRESS TO STOP THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION FROM CONFISCATING NIH BUDGETS TO FUND ITS FAILING WAR
According to the ranking Democratic member of the US House Appropriations committee, Rosa DeLauro (CT), Pete Hegseth’s Pentagon is: “…trying to steal funds from the National Institutes of Health to make up for the record amount of taxpayer money they’ve spent in the war on Iran" (The New Republic, September 3, 2026).
Rep. DeLauro’s statement to the press says: “This secretive attempt to siphon research funds away from NIH is outrageous. The interagency agreement needs to be terminated immediately.”
We, the undersigned, agree and demand you, the US Congress, as the elected representatives of the people of the United States of America, must immediately submit and pass emergency legislation terminating this extralegal transfer of NIH funding to Hegseth’s Department of War.
